On the 21st October, I’ll be pedalling, or attempting to pedal, 210km as one of thousands of riders in the Bicycle Victoria “Around the Bay in a Day“ ride on my homemade lowracer recumbent bicycle.
As well as being an adventure (albeit an exhausting one), this event is also held to try to raise funds for the Smith Family.
If you’d like to support the charity and spur me on to complete the ride, you can do so by clicking here and following the instructions. My Bib number (you’ll need to enter it) is 6843.
This weekend by way of training, a few of we recumbent riders are going around the bay in a weekend, staying overnight at Queenscliff at the halfway point. The weather looks good for Saturday, but it looks like we’ll have a stiff headwind on Sunday. I’ll let you know how it went…
Update:
Sponsor Roll of honour. These folks have made kind donations so far:
- Ken Jelleff
- Murray Cann
- Doug Hoffmann
- me!
Update: We completed the training ride around the bay on the weekend, with a perfect fay for the first leg and a fierce head/crosswind on the second. But we made it!!!!
More later.
